Apostolos Karastergiou / Drawing Session

Eleftheria Tseliou gallery is happy to invite you to Apostolos Karastergiou’s solo show ‘Drawing Session’. The show opens on Thursday, October 8 and will be on display until the 7th of November 2015.
‘…This is precisely the point of this exhibition: meaning and sensation is not simply left to the viewer under the auspices of polysemy, in a fashion in which the artist is the provider of sensuous stimuli and conceptual riddles, but it is a deeply engaging and personal investigation of artistic media as vehicles for representation plotted against their referents as well as their signified meanings which pertain to fears, attachments and ambiguous yet ever-present aspects/elements which linger within everyday life. This is a double re-presentation: one that invites the viewer to sense, think, make meaning within the space that is created in-between different modes of representation, artfully and elegantly executed and another, which aims at condensing and objectifying the personal, the subjective, the uncanny, in an effort not so much to represent them in a meaningful way, as much as to expose the impossibility of meaning-making as a seamless transfer, or formation of meaning for the same matter, within the confines of language, visual arts, and other modes of representation.’
