Apostolos Karastergiou / Five Spots Six

Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery is happy to present Apostolos Karastergiou’s solo show ‘Five Spots Six’. The show opens on Thursday, February 1 and will be on display until the 3rd of March 2018.
Apostolos Karastergiou creates works that do not fall easily under obvious and straightforward shapes and definitions. His deep knowledge of drawing and the confidence that he derives from his skills, encourage him to constantly explore and employ new, often complicated, techniques for his works.
In this show, the second one with the gallery, he is presenting five works in colored pencils and digital collage, a photograph and a bigger work also in pencil. Even though Karastergiou’s new work is not easily relatable to the previous one, there is always a common element that defines his work, that is how he sees the contemporary world and how he locates himself in it. This common element can be associated with hyperrealism. A hyperrealism, though, that is very contemporary and groundbreaking.
